History: Rolf lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His first spouse was a Brewer, they had one daughter, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Spice Merchant hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Spice Merchant for the past few years.
