History: Ermina was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. Her father was a mechanic, and taught her how to fix just about anything. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he has decided he is irredeemable

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever; and balancing his hectic life and new ploughman responsibilities is difficult
