Personality: Hugh is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He also hits on women, regardless of circumstances.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Painter arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Painter. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: She runs her personal life as if detached from it. She organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits she will get from it. Her brief stint in the army gave her the idea she was invincible and that she is the toughest woman alive.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and money/treasure

Personality: Here is a woman who knows she is the smartest in the room. She talks down to others constantly. She is a bit of a xeno-phobe, disliking non-Humans.

History: She was born in the north. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Ruler hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She doesn't get along with people that don't share her tastes; and human compassion

Personality: She likes to brag about her accomplishments and constantly tries to beat others to the punch. She keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to her own.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Ostracized due to the druidic powers of her oldest brother, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Regain custody of her son; and to unite with her brother
