History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the south. His parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when he was still a young child. The dire rats captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and to get a good night's sleep

Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Bertram fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever

History: He got into the Brewer business at a young age. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Brewer.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it
