History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when drow swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His childhood dream was to be a Tailor, but he was a colossal failure. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Spice Merchant for the past few years.

Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Beatrice grew up listening to her father's many stories. Her childhood dream was to be a Stylist, but she was a colossal failure. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero; and she is unsatisfied with her job

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes him no end of embarrassment.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Alex grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Alex. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

Personality: She can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. She is always in debt, since she spends her money on lavish parties and gifts for friends

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has dedicated herself to building a better kind of golem.

Motivation: To reunite with her old friends.
