Personality: Gerald is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. The war was a terrible time for him, and Gerald does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. Through the years after Gerald was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Gerald's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes brigands are coming to abduct people. He is obsessed with his god.

History: Born in the west his family was never financially stable. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. He found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: He desires power and/or immortality; and to reunite with his old friends

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, she has a hard time making friends. She has a minor phobia of water and hates getting wet.

History: She was born into a rich family. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She feels threatened by others; and money/treasure
