History: Her psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. In her 16th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her father impaled in their home, and her mother beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: The child of a Painter, who enjoyed hunting, Emeny was taken on many hunting expeditions. At a young age both her parents were killed in an accident. Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Hugh hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.
