In her 16th year, her parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Cecily alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
