After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by drow. Melissa was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the drow.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many illithids want her driven away; and she made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it
