She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. Some 3 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Katherine never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

Everard was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He saw the violence of war and the aftermath so he converted to religion and dedicated himself to non-violence.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and many illithids want him driven away
