History: Hugh lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. At some point he was captured by illithids and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. After a long history of fighting, Ralf and his spouse have recently divorced.
