When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Carpenter hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
