Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: Hubert was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature shield.

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. When he's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, he's doing painting.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has never given up on his painting dream.

Motivation: He has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day.

Description: This woman is tall and muscular. She wears a brown costume with the symbols of the sun god on her torso. She keeps her long brown hair kept up in a rat tail. Her thin eyebrows rest above her beady brown eyes.

Personality: She hates orcs. She views them as having robbed her home of its proper glory. Further she is a bit of a stoner and is frequently out of it.

History: When she was but 5 years old her parents immigrated from the south. Because her mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, orcs burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her father from journeying south to reunite her family. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Revenge.

Personality: She dislikes all the random violence that takes place in the east. She plays an instrument quite well.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She's in love; and retire the richest woman in the east
