History: Roland lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She misses her home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
