History: The child of eastern immigrants she idolized her father. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: She is quiet and unassuming. She ignores others and carries on with her job unassumingly. Further she is a bit of a stoner and is frequently out of it.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. Jacoba liked to wander the woods near her home when she was young, something she still likes to do at least once a week. She never liked modest clothing or shoes, so she would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and she developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. She now owns her own business.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and balancing her hectic life and new bookbinder responsibilities is difficult

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Personality: She is happy with her job as a Dilettante. She turns her eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. She receives visions of the future at random moments

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Millicent was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her father disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her father, she was betrayed dozens of times. She struck the Dilettante job and began her own company from there.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Dilettante and was forced into it by her family; and to be a guard again
