History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by orcs. Alex was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the orcs.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Balimaar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: When she was but 4 years old her parents immigrated from the east. She helped her father out around the business and became quite the natural. She's also a talented Marshal, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
