History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. Dean was born on a far western mountains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Carter. He has achieved small success as a Carter.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Matilda was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She has since lost track of the people in her past.
