Description: An older woman who dresses in collared shirts and wears a proper scarf over her head, she is not a threatening figure. Her auburn hair is cut short. Her blue eyes lackadaisically let the world flow into them.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Sage born in the past three hundred years. She tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Sage. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Description: A well shaped woman just over fifty, she wears pastel painted combat armor at almost all times. Her hair is cut close to her head. She is very pretty but has cold, dead eyes.

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. Any perceived weakness will be pressed and exploited. She is seen as merciless and passionate.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Avelina was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Avelina grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Avelina. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Sailor for hire.

Personality: She is calm most of the time but flees social interaction. She is used to getting what she wants. In part because she is a meticulous planner.

History: She was born in the south, but her parents moved at a very young age to the east. A few years later when the east was not economically sound they moved to her current location. After a long history of fighting, Ida and her spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: Wants to raise her children well; and regain custody of her son
