In her 15th year, her parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Geva alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Through the years after Miles was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Miles's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.
