Description: A well shaped woman just over fifty, she is bundled in multiple layers and is prepared for a desert trek wearing a turban that covers her face most of the time. She wears her chestnut hair down. Her face is full, her cheeks are rosy, and she always seems to sport a perfect smile and a twinkle in her green eyes.

Personality: She is curt in most of her responses. She prefers to keep her word usage to a minimum to avoid giving away unnecessary information. Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Mary is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the south for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Seamstress they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Merchant, and she later adopted a second daughter.

Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.

Personality: He is unhospitable to his core. His small house has "No trespassing" Signs all over it. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of gnolls may trigger it at times.

History: Charles hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. Through the years after Charles was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Charles's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it; and many gnolls want him driven away

Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk she knows how to make people feel guilty. She is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. She found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Motivation: She desires power and/or immortality.

Personality: Hunter speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. He is clearly well-traveled and educated. As he has aged he has sought to do reparations for his actions as a youth. He is also making sure that his compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture.
