History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He wants revenge against illithids.

Personality: She is erratic and paranoid. She believes goblins are coming to abduct people. The war was a terrible time for her, and Emmeline does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Emmeline was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by goblins. Emmeline was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the goblins.
