Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this western guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. The war was a terrible time for him, and Ernest does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Born to a Bookbinder, his father struggled to pay the bills. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: Ahlyssa speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. She is clearly well-traveled and educated. She cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist she will grow angry at them.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when she was still a young child. The dire rats captured her, and made her a slave and general play-thing. She was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to her deformed appearance. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: A deep hatred of dire rats.
