History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. Some 7 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Bernard never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Personality: She is erratic and paranoid. She believes giants are coming to abduct people. She constantly seizes attention wherever she goes and has come to expect this respect from everyone. She likes to think of herself as merciful, but nonetheless is very strict.

History: She comes from a rich western family. At some point she was captured by giants and was tortured. After several years of this she finally managed to escape. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike her way of doing things and want revenge; and she uses money and sex appeal to get what she needs

Description: This northern woman is bundled in multiple layers and is prepared for a desert trek wearing a turban that covers her face most of the time. Her clothes are grease stained in places. She has shaved her head bald. Her blue unseeing eyes seem to look past you.

Personality: She never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. She dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. Her biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her father. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Engraver hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
