Personality: Oriel speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. She is clearly well-traveled and educated. Around other people she will do her best to conceal her emotions and appear jolly.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. In her 14th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Oriel alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Herleva is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Herleva has worked very hard to control her curse. She hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure her.
