History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Simon was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
