Afterwards he claimed he had encountered giants who tried to eat his hand. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it

Personality: Millicent wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Paladin, so she tries to act the part. She does a good job, for the most part... She moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep her interest for a month it is impressive.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and she is a bit of a kleptomaniac
