History: Bertram was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered dancing. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

History: She was born in the south, but her parents moved at a very young age to the east. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Shepherd. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
