It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Lance alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Lance was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. A freak accident while working with his Sculptor father left him crippled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. He is obsessed with his god.

History: He got into the Marshal business at a young age. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
