History: She was born in the west. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. In her 12th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Herleva alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.
