It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation she is generally quite perceptive. She notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. She misses her home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. A gifted student she started as a Healer, but she got bored and became a Doctor. She has worked as a Doctor like her mother before her.

Personality: She is quiet and reserved most of the time, but warms up to people very quickly. Around friends she is liable to tell dirty jokes and enjoy herself. She is a bit of a xeno-phobe, disliking non-Humans.

History: She was raised in a plains tribe. While she appears to be a normal Human, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She bought a ceremonial dagger and has really upped her game hunting, due to her understanding of decoy and ambush.

History: She was born in the south. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to pay off her debts
