The war was a terrible time for him, and Bernard does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born at the edge of vast mountains. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Barkeep work with an outfit from a few towns over. Barkeep work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Heartbroken, Bernard never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the west. Her father worked until she suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. She had to support her now crippled father and took her father's old job. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.
