History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Roland grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Roland. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A freak accident while working with his Bellfounder father left him crippled. During his travels, Gerald and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Gerald discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Gerald fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and he desires power and/or immortality

Personality: Simon is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Simon was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Simon alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.
