His parents enrolled him in a Paladin school at a young age so that he could practice his psionic talents. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature longbow.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion
