He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Jocelyn was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He tends to his Fletcher job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Fletcher responsibilities is difficult; and a rival would like him out of the picture

Personality: She is shy and timid. She has not had much interaction with people and is skittish around them. Her home and work are filled with various knick knacks she has acquired through the years. She cares a great deal for her adopted teenage daughter.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. When Beatrice reached her early adolescence her Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She now spends her time doing works of charity.
