Personality: She is irascible and easily irritated. She loves her children and doesn't want them to worry about her. She loves to share her writing with anyone who is interested.
History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Adelaide grew up listening to her mother's many stories. Her mother disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her mother, she was betrayed dozens of times. After a long history of fighting, Adelaide and her spouse have recently divorced.
Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Cartwright responsibilities is difficult; and to be a miller again

Personality: He never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. He is a ruthless business man, a trait he acquired from his father.
History: He comes from a rich southern family. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting giants, the young Trey began to lead the lost caravan. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
Motivation: Many giants want him driven away; and to share knowledge with the world

Personality: She swings through moods quickly. One moment she is cool and collected, the next she is carried away by passions. She is lazy and tries to find solutions quickly.
History: Margery lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She has since married many spouses, only to have them die. She claims to not be responsible.
Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love; and doesn't want to be a interpreter and was forced into it by her family
