History: She was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family Her mother was a mechanic, and taught her how to fix just about anything. One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: She is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. He has had some formal singing training, and achieved minor success. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
