When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Tim grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Tim. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and doesn't want to be a shepherd and was forced into it by his family

Personality: She is unhospitable to her core. Her small house has "No trespassing" Signs all over it. She also is a firm believer in the womanly ideal.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a daughter. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She is terrified, and will act out of fear; and wishes to resurrect an old love

Personality: This woman loves writing and to teach people writing more than just about anything. She is a bit of a macho woman and will challenge people to random contests of strength and skill, and invite them to random hunting and fishing trip.

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. A freak accident while working with her Guard mother left her crippled. She bought a whip and has really upped her game hunting, due to her understanding of decoy and ambush.

Motivation: She doesn't get along with people that don't share her tastes; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever
