History: Her psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. A serious injury left her mother unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. She's also a talented Engraver, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Chad lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature greataxe.
