History: Born in the north to a Cartwright, William learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the north were limited. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 12 years.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and she wants revenge against goblins

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out; and he has money and likes to spend it
