History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Jocelyn was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and his religion dominates his actions

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Everard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs.

History: He was born in the north. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
