She is fiercely devoted to her father, and views her father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-brother.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. After a long history of fighting, Joan and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: He comes from a rich southern family. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
