He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

History: She was born in the east, but her parents moved at a very young age to the south. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: When she was but 6 years old her parents immigrated from the east. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Emma was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and balancing her hectic life and new painter responsibilities is difficult
