History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. Through the years after Gerard was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Gerard's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born in the west to a Carter, Aline learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. She moved out north to avoid the crime she committed. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero; and seeks redemption
