History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Melissa was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Through the years after Melissa was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Melissa's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to her current location. After a long history of fighting, Adelaide and her spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He is a jovial happy person, but he is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. Despite his manner, he is extremely passionate and proud of his job, and he prides himself in being thorough and never missing a detail.

History: The child of a Performer, who enjoyed hunting, Roland was taken on many hunting expeditions. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
