Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Navigator arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Joan was raised in a hard working conservative environment. In her 18th year, her parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Joan alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Soapmaker for hire.
