History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She was an apprentice working in her mother's forge. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. Joan was born on a far western forest where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Ruler. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
