History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Description: A plain young-adult woman, she wears a worn and beaten armor. She has dyed her greying black hair a little too much giving a sharp black color. Her brown eyes show the wear and tear of someone lonely with a great burden to carry.

Personality: She has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. She is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with her big mouthed big gutted partner. Her partner is her best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. She pushes her goals aggressively. She is also a coward if confronted.

History: Elysande was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. The war was a terrible time for her, and Joan does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: Joan was raised in a hard working conservative environment. At a young age both her parents were killed in an accident. Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.
