History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Bertram embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Bertram is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital.
