History: Richard hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. At some point he was captured by dire rats and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Human artifacts is his passion; and he's looking for his big break

She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She has since lost track of the people in her past.
