History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Sage arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. Some 9 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Randal never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. A gifted student she started as a Barkeep, but she got bored and became a Beggar. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
